Hara, a Greek nonprofit association founded in 1983, is a residential home for 57 residents (our “children” “τα παιδιά» μας ) ranging in age from 15 – 75 who have IQs of 30 or less in addition to special needs including autism, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome and mental retardation.
Hara provides around the clock, full year care in a clean, loving and safe environment through its experienced and committed team of medical and nursing staff, care workers, therapists and ancillary workers.
Hara is funded through a combination of sources including parents’ contributions, the Greek National Organization for Health Care Provision (ΕΟΠΥΥ) and private donations.
In 2021, Hara, which is in Pallini (a 20 minute drive from central Athens), will inaugurate a new extension to its existing premises which will house an additional 30 child bringing the total number of residents to 87.
